Parking permit refunds

UPDATE: The deadline for a full parking permit refund has been extended to 11:59 p.m., Friday, Sept. 25You may request a full parking permit refund online if your parking needs have changed due to changes in instructional delivery.

Those who requested a refund after the original deadline of Sept. 15 at 3 p.m. will automatically have the $25 admin fee refunded. Please allow up to 30 days for this refund to be applied.

All requests received after 11:59 p.m., Sept. 25,  will be subject to the standard proration schedule and a $25 admin fee.

Refunds will be processed in the order they are received. Refunds will be issued back to the card used at the time of purchase. If you enrolled in the Credit Card on File program, all future payments will be canceled and previous payments will be returned to your card. 

Parking enforcement

Parking permits are currently enforced in all faculty/staff areas (Cone Deck, East Deck 1, Union Deck, Lot 11A, Lot 15, Lot 29 and CAB Lot) and visitor areas (East Deck 1, Cone Deck and Union Deck). Visitor gates are down and payment is required. 

Any student with a valid resident or commuter permit can park in any student space through Sept. 25, 2020. 

Permit sales

Parking permits are still available for purchase in UNCC MyPark. Pricing will follow the monthly proration schedule. Annual permits purchased on Oct. 1 will cost $394.

PaTS is analyzing how further instructional format changes may impact permit pricing. Parking and Transportation Services (PaTS) will communicate directly with active parking permit holders via their @uncc email account if further adjustments are made to permit pricing.

Transportation options

  • Niner Transit, the University’s fare-free bus system, is currently operating on a modified scheduleLearn more about riding Niner Transit this fall.
  • E-scooters and bikes are available for short-term rental on campus through the Gotcha Mobility app. One hundred pedal-assist bikes will replace the current bikes, and 120 e-scooters will be added to the campus scooter fleet by the end of September. 
  • Your 49er Card serves as your ticket to unlimited, fare-free rides on CATS LYNX light rail, streetcar and all CATS bus routes. The CATS All-Access Transit Pass is provided to students through the Miscellaneous Transportation Service Charge (MTSC). Faculty and staff may purchase a transit pass through UNCC MyPark. Annual passes are $75, and semester passes are $50.
