Parking permits for the 2021-22 academic year are available for purchase through UNCC MyPark beginning Monday, Aug. 2, 2021. Permits are valid from the date of purchase.
Permit options
- Annual permits are a practical option for those who park on campus more than twice a week.
- Night permits are valid between 3 p.m. and 8 a.m. These permits are intended for faculty, staff and students who need parking only during late afternoons and evenings.
- Lot 27 and Lot 6A discount permits are available to faculty, staff and commuters who are willing to park farther from the academic center in exchange for a lower price. Quantities are limited; not available to resident students.
- North Deck discount permits are available to commuter students who are willing to park in North Deck. Quantities are limited.
- Fall semester permits make sense for students who expect to park on campus more than twice a week only during fall semester. Not available to faculty or staff.
New for 2021 - Parking Packs
- Parking Packs are daily permits available in quantities of 10 and 30 and are an economical option for those with less frequent parking needs.
- Parking pack balances decline with each day’s use. Weekly emails reporting daily permit balance.
- Parking Packs expire Aug. 14, 2022.
- Not available to resident students and not valid for parking at The Dubois Center at UNC Charlotte Center City Building.

Payment options
Permit purchases may be made through UNCC MyPark or by visiting the Parking and Transportation Office.
One-time credit card payment

Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover accepted.
Credit Card on File Payment Plan (CCOF)
- Pay for your permit in three monthly payments.
- CCOF charges your bank card for the first three consecutive months. The first payment will include a non-refundable $20 fee. Permit is active upon the first payment.
Payroll deduction
Faculty and staff may purchase permits through payroll deduction.
Payroll deduction begins within two payroll periods following purchase.
- Temporary employees who purchase in August see the first deduction Aug. 27.
- Full-time employees who purchase in August see the first deduction Aug. 31.
- Part-time faculty members who do not receive an August paycheck will be contacted directly for a customized plan.
The first payroll deduction is double the amount of subsequent deductions. For example:
- Payroll takes $48 for a Standard annual permit purchased in August during the first payroll deduction and then $24 per pay period thereafter.
- For a Premium annual permit purchased in August, payroll subtracts $62 at the first payroll deduction and $31 per pay period thereafter.
- Deduction amounts for permits purchased after August will vary by permit type and purchase date.
- Standard payroll deductions begin on the second deduction and continue until the permit is paid in full.
Faculty and staff may cancel their permit and payroll deduction by submitting a Refund Request Form. Restrictions apply.
Parking enforcement
Parking on campus requires a permit or purchase of visitor parking and is enforced anytime the University is open.
Student lots are reserved for move-in activities starting Monday, Aug. 2; full parking enforcement begins in all lots and decks at 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 23.
Commuting alternatives
PaTS offers a number of ways to get around campus and the city:
- Charlotte Area Transit Buses and Light Rail - Access campus via CATS buses or from CATS LYNX stations. Your 49er ID Card serves as your CATS All-Access Transit Pass. Just show and go on LYNX light rail and tap and go on CATS buses. Parking at LYNX stations and park and rides is free at most locations, but payment is required at JW Clay and University City Blvd. stations.The cost for the CATS All-Access Transit Pass is included in the Miscellaneous Transportation Service Charge which most students pay upon enrollment; no additional fare is required. Faculty and staff have the option to purchase a CATS All-Access Transit Pass at a reduced rate through mypark.uncc.edu.
- Gotcha Powered by Bolt e-scooters and pedal-assist bikes - Learn more about the Gotcha Powered by Bolt program; rental fees apply.
- Niner Transit - Four weekday and two weekend routes cover campus and run as frequently as every six minutes during peak hours. Niner Transit, hours of operation, route maps and bus locations are on the UNCCNextRide app and UNCC NextRide webpage.

The Dubois Center at UNC Charlotte Center City Building parking
Students enrolled in classes at Center City automatically have Center City Building parking privileges assigned to their permit.
Faculty and staff conducting business at Center City Building must add CCB privileges to their permit at the time of purchase.
Faculty and staff CATS All-Access Transit Pass
Passes for the 2021-22 academic year are available for purchase in UNCC MyPark beginning Monday, Aug. 2 and take effect on Aug. 15. Full-year passes cost $75 and semester passes cost $50.
